EDGE SteakUnited Airlines is launching daily nonstop service from Denver to Narita International Airport (Tokyo) beginning June 10, 2013, and one of the passengers on the inaugural flight from Denver to Tokyo will be Executive Chef Simon Purvis of EDGE Restaurant. Chef Purvis will be a visiting guest chef at ekki BAR & GRILL at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi from Friday, June 14 to Friday, June 28, 2013.

“I’m thrilled to bring a taste of Denver to Japan, introducing popular items we have on our EDGE menu to ekki,” said Chef Purvis. “It’s a wonderful partnership between our hotels, and we are excited to experience the launch of United Airlines’ Dreamliner. It’s a great tourism initiative for Denver.”

EDGE is well known for its use of locally sourced products. Taking advantage of the finest, freshest ingredients whenever possible, Chef Purvis grills all meats and vegetables served at EDGE over pecan wood. During the promotion at ekki BAR & GRILL, Chef Purvis will present a special menu reflective of “Rocky Mountain cuisine” prepared in an authentic style using Japanese local ingredients. In Tokyo, a special five-course gala dinner will be held on Friday, June 14, and a cooking class will be held on Tuesday, June 18 to showcase popular dishes from the Rocky Mountain state.

Chef Simon will return to Denver on June 20 and will be going straight to the Denver Zoo, where EDGE is participating in its third annual Do at the Zoo event.
